To long time residents of St. Petersburg, the chili dog has only one home, Coney Island Sandwich Shop. George and Hank Barlas, the current owners of the restaurant which has been in their family for 75 years, serve up good, basic, soda fountain food - hot dogs, fries, and milk shakes. You can always find a sense of tradition at Coney Island, and occasionally it comes with a spicy taste of life on the side.
